The hike to the refuge XII Apostoli with Mountain Friends guides will allow you to reach a quiet place away from the crowds passing through a varied landscape.
The first part of the hike will come down from the top of the Doss Sabion (reached by lifts) to Passo Bregn de l'Ors across wide pastures smelling the nice "scent of chocolate" (Nigritella nigra). After reaching the green esplanade of the Lago Asciutto the path will abandon the woods and you will be facing the barrage of rocks at the height of which you can already see the refuge and the small church. To overcome this challenging section you must climb the so-called "Scala Santa", a short equipped path. The rest of the hike will be on moraine debris and on bare rock, in the sight of the peaks of Nardis.
Once at the refuge the view can range from Care Alto to Adamello and Presanella. After a stop at the refuge and a visit to the picturesque church carved into the rock - dedicated to those who died in the Mountains - you will either choose to return following the same path back or to complete the loop by climbing up till the pass and come down along the steep scree slopes of Val di Sacco. In this way you will have the opportunity to see the "famous" XII Apostles-- i.e. the twelve rocky peaks that surround it. In both solutions you will reach back Bregn de l'Ors and from here you will go down to Pra Rodont where the cable allows a comfortable descent to the valley.
