This route takes you through crevasses and seracs, offering spectacular views and an exciting challenge for ski enthusiasts. An ideal excursion for experienced skiers, accustomed to off-piste skiing and steep slopes, with good technique and control of the skis. PROGRAM
Day 1 - Ascent from Courmayeur to Punta Helbronner (3,462 m)
Meet at Tione di Trento (time to be determined, approximately 6 am), equipment check.
We will reach Courmayeur and take the famous Skyway cable car to Punta Helbronner.
Visit the panoramic terraces to admire the mountain crown surrounding the Aosta Valley. We will go over the use of avalanche transceiver, shovel, and probe, and begin the descent along the Glacier du Géant to reach the Cosmiques Hut for the night.
Difficulty: BS (Basic Skiing)
Day 2 - Cosmiques Hut (3,606 m) - Montenvers
From the hut, we will descend for 18 km towards the Vallée Blanche until we reach Montenvers. There will be an opportunity to see the ice caves, followed by an ascent via cable car, then a rack railway to Chamonix, and finally a bus to the Skyway parking lot in Courmayeur.
Return in the evening.
Descent: 1,750 meters, 18 km of descent – Difficulty: MS (Medium Skiing) – Time: 6 hours.
