Cima Carè Alto is the most alpine mountain of the entire Adamello Presanella group, with airy ridges and very steep slopes on all sides. With the Pinzolo Val Rendena Alpine Guides - Mountain Friends - you can experience the thrill of reaching the summit.
Cima Carè Alto is the most important peak in the southern part of the Adamello Group. It is a climb of great alpine, historical, and scenic interest. The beauty of this great mountain, besides its isolated and dominant position, also comes from the great variety of its slopes, which are in sharp contrast with each other. Many barracks, walkways, and even the wheel of a cableway below the summit testify to the Austrian siege during the White War. The Northwest Ridge (Normal Route) is reached from the Niscli saddle and then crossing the glacier. In recent years, this climb is not recommended late in the season with little snow, while it is preferable to climb the East Ridge (Cerana Route), which is only slightly more difficult but much more direct and safe. For this route, you ascend via the Cannone saddle, where the remains of the artillery piece can still be found. The most difficult section is a 25 m wall of III° grade to reach the ridge. The meeting with the alpine guide takes place at the Care Alto refuge. The ascent to the refuge is done independently along the SAT trail that starts at the end of the Borzago Valley.
