An unprecedented route at the bottom of the Genova Valley that traverses a rocky spur with easy climbing passages next to a powerful waterfall descending from the Mandrone glacier! Let the professionals of Mountain Friends guide you on this splendid ascent.

The meeting is scheduled at the Pinzolo cable cars at 7:30 a.m. After checking the equipment, we drive to the bottom of the Genova Valley, to the Bedole plain, where we start walking. Staying in the valley floor through the forest, we pass the 'Pioneers' Rock' and head towards a rocky spur where the 'Alpine Route of the Hanging Waters' begins. We put on our harnesses and helmets, rope up, and start climbing, using our hands on the steeper sections. The presence of numerous resin-coated bolts makes the ascent very safe, although good agility and a steady foot are necessary to fully enjoy this experience. The rocky spur we climb runs alongside a gorge with a roaring waterfall fed by the melting snow and ice from the glacier above. At the top of the climb, we reach a wonderful plateau with a glacial lake formed in the last three decades. Here, we unrope and continue for about an hour on a trail to reach the Mandrone refuge. After a break at the refuge, the descent follows the classic trail, which leads back to the Bedole plain in about two hours.
