A ski mountaineering trip beyond the polar circle, powder, unforgettable views of the fjords, evenings together waiting for the sunrise. Eight days of ski mountaineering and travel experience, in search of the perfect slope.
The Pinzolo Val Rendena Mountain Guides - Mountain Friends, together with the Campo Base Travel and Holiday travel agency, are organising a fantastic week of ski mountaineering on the Lofoten Islands, in Norway, among mountains, fjords, sea and ... cod. Where the snow kisses the sea, environment and nature express themselves in silence. The mountains plunge into the fjords. The landscape is saturated with the colours of the typical local dwellings: red, yellow and white; a connecting line between the sea and the snow-capped mountains. Everything respects the right balance between population and nature. The Lofoten Islands are rich in mountains that lend themselves well to ski mountaineering. Unlike our Alps, the altitude differences are quite small, but, if desired, allow several peaks to be combined in one day. A special feature of ski mountaineering in Lofoten is the choice of the ‘on sight’ trip, i.e. driving around and choosing the mountain you like best to ski, checking its feasibility on the topographical map. The highly variable weather on these islands in the ocean means that there is often fresh snow. Ski mountaineering here is never about time and altitude difference but rather about finding the perfect slope to ski down! The days do not end here; there are many fishing villages to discover. Will you be lucky enough to witness the spectacle of the Northern Lights?
