Scenic Via Ferrata in Trentino, suitable for beginners, along the World War I first line above Tonale Pass.
The IFMGA-certified Mountain Guides of Mountain Friends team are excited to lead you on Sentiero dei Fiori via Ferrata through the World War I zones. The route follows the old path used by Italian soldiers to connect the posts on the ridgeline. Two suspension bridges more than 50 meters long, caves dug through the rock, stairs built with granite stones and wooden bridges connect Castellaccio and Pisgana on a 3000 meters high ridge which was the old boundary between Austria and Italy. Sentiero dei Fiori is a scenic tour with lakes, mountains and high glaciers view and historic feel. It’s possible to take a gondola at Tonale Pass and get the loop from Castellaccio Pass to Lago Scuro Pass and Presena Pass to take the other gondola to descend to the parking lot.
